Vajrapani is a Bodhisattva who represents the energy of
the enlightened mind .On the popular level ,
Vajrapani,(the Holder of the Thunderbolt Scepter),
symbolizes the power of compassion . He is widely
depicted in Buddhist iconography as one of the three
protective deities wildly in the engulfing flames of
transformation. His footage is the sun-disk and his
adornments are various nagas (serpents). Holding a vajra
(Tibetan: dorje: the thunderbolt sy
mbolizing the power to cut through the darkness of
delusion) in his right hand , and a demon noose in his
left , Vajrapani looks wrathful , but as a
representation of the enlightened mind , he`s completely
free from hatred.
I had acquired the nice thangka from a buddhist familys in Lhasa
area
